We americans do not pay the actual cost of food, if we did, we would be spending CONSIDERABLY more than we do now.

I do not know what the tipping point will be but its possible we could reach an early food price shock in september</description>

		<description>The popcorn example is a poor one. If the price of popcorn seeds doubled, it should only raise the price of a large popcorn about 10 cents, not go from 3 bucks to 6 bucks. The fear is being used to rip people off, and the money that processing companies make will be used to lobby government and regulators to &quot;do something&quot; which will mean even more subsidies to corporate-owned megafarms under the guise of &quot;helping family farmers&quot;. The price of food needs to go up about 4 times what it is for people to think about where they are getting their food, and that they would rather pay a farmer 50 bucks an hour than a government employee inspecting Mexican tomatoes.</description>
